MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES & ACCOUNTABILITY: • Auditing of SHE standards and compliant working practices across live projects • Act as a SHEQ Advisor for the safe completion of live construction projects • Support internal training courses, e.g. asbestos awareness as may be confirmed. • Keep up to date with health, safety & environmental legislation and maintain current standards accordingly for Speller Metcalfe to demonstrate compliance • Accident investigation across all live projects and production of initial report with full detail • Development of new toolbox talks, “Red Top Alert and Blue Top” best practice information sheets and liaise with stakeholders Secondary Responsibilities : • Report to Directors on a monthly basis when required • Liaison with HSE, EA, LA and insurance brokers to relay incident details when applicable after discussion with SH&S Manager and or EHS & Ops Manager with reference to SML Director’s advice. • Maintain accident/incident and near miss details for calculation of AIR and AFR information • Support the bid team regarding SHEQ questions • Support company social value needs • Liaison with subcontractors following poor performance • Compilation of information for CHAS, and other 3rd party accreditation organisations • Crisis management • Support in development of project specific SHEQ documents such as CEMPs, CPHSPs and Fire plans PEOPLE MANAGEMENT SKILLS • Actively encourage all employee performance by supportive engagement. • Ensure all employees’ roles and responsibilities are clearly defined and understood in order to manage expectations and accountability at all levels. • Continually champions the development, training and ongoing education where levels for improvement are identified. • Support carbon reduction methods and reporting.
