We are seeking a skilled and experienced Test Engineer to undertake comprehensive test planning and execution, focusing on API and UI automation as part of a managed service. You will play a critical role in defining testing strategies using a risk-based approach, creating and maintaining automated test suites, and collaborating with teams across the Software Development Lifecycle to ensure alignment with business objectives. You will also contribute to knowledge sharing within the team and drive quality through a combination of manual and automated testing techniques.
This role is hybrid, requiring two days a week in Newcastle.
Hybrid working: The places that you work from day to day will vary according to your role, your needs, and those of the business; it will be a blend of Company offices, client sites, and your home; noting that you will be unable to work at home 100% of the time.
Your role
* Perform functional testing alongside accessibility testing to ensure seamless user experiences for all users.
* Ability to develop and improve frameworks and automation suites.
* Comprehensive understanding of the testing lifecycle, including test generation, analysis, reporting, and defect management.
* Experience working in agile environments and applying shift-left principles, including CI/CD pipelines.
* Define and implement testing strategies based on holistic risk analysis.
* Strong understanding of performance, security, and accessibility testing, including test types, tools, and standards.
* Participate in non-functional testing such as performance, security, and accessibility using appropriate tools and methodologies.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure solutions align with delivery goals.
* Manage, mentor and coach team members, helping to cover knowledge gaps and foster a collaborative testing environment.

* Experience conducting functional testing to ensure seamless integration of features.
* Ability to effectively communicate technical accessibility findings to non-technical stakeholders.
Your security clearance
To be successfully appointed to this role, it is a requirement to obtain Security Check (SC) clearance. To obtain SC clearance, the successful applicant must have resided continuously within the United Kingdom for the last 5 years, along with other criteria and requirements.
