Specialist Biomedical Scientist AFC Band 6 Department of Infection Science (Bacteriology) Permanent Main duties of the job We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic HCPC registered Specialist BMS to join our team. You must be a strong team player who has a positive attitude to change. You must have excellent organisational and communication skills. The successful applicant will work as part of a team of virology and bacteriology staff based at the Royal Stoke University Hospital site. The Infection Science Department at Royal Stoke University Hospital in Stoke-on-Trent provides a comprehensive range of diagnostic and clinical services for two acute Hospitals, local GUM clinics and a wide range of community based health providers. We also provide laboratory services to GPs and wider service users in the surrounding area. The Bacteriology department is equipped with Vitek2, UF-5000i, MS PRIME, BACT/ALERT VIRTUO, BDMax and WASPLab. The hours of work for this post will be 37.5 hours per week over a 24/7 period. Applicants will be expected to have significant bacteriology experience preferably in an NHS Lab.
