An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Project Support Officer to join the Wales Maternity & Neonatal Network, which is part of the NHS Wales Executive, hosted by Public Health Wales. Working on behalf of the Welsh Government, the Executive's role is to provide strong leadership and strategic direction and enable and support the delivery of national priorities and standards.
As part of the NHS Wales Executive, the Network drives improvements in the quality and safety of perinatal care and support across Wales to deliver better and more equitable outcomes, access, and experience, reduced unwarranted variation, and improve population health.
Main duties of the job
The main duties of the Senior Project Support Officer are to support specific projects and sub-groups within a National Strategic Clinical Network as well as providing general administrative support.
* Support the maintenance, management and oversight of project plans.
* Support the development and management of required documentation.
* Take responsibility for the management of defined areas of work within specific projects.
* Support the management of budgets.
* Support stakeholder communications and engagement.
* Produce reports on progress for internal and external use.
Job responsibilities
The post holder will work as part of a team in a National Strategic Clinical Network within the NHS Wales Executive to deliver their programme of work. The Network has the responsibility to deliver an agreed programme of work within the wider Executive Programme. The post holder will support the Programme Manager in the administrative functionality, maintenance, and oversight of specific streams of this work programme. Although this post will sit within a National Strategic Clinical Network, there may be a future requirement, in agreement with the post holder, to work across the Executive supporting other networks or programmes of work.
Person Specification
Qualifications and/or Knowledge
* The post holder will require NVQ Level 3 or equivalent level of experience, together with a high level of numeracy, written and spoken English.
* Good knowledge of MS Office Suite.
* Awareness of policies and procedures relating to dealing with confidential data both personal and organisational.
* Thorough understanding of project/programme office functions.
* Working knowledge of filing/data systems including records management.
* Advanced ECDL or equivalent.
* Microsoft Project.
Experience
* Demonstrable experience in an administrative role.
* Previous experience of working with financial systems and/or purchasing of goods or equipment.
* Previous experience of dealing with customers, clients, and/or members of the public.
* Experience of project support work.
* Experience of communicating at all levels.
* Experience of dealing with confidential and sensitive data and appropriate maintenance and storage of records.
* Experience of transcribing and minute taking.
* Working experience of Microsoft Office Suite.
* Supervisory experience.
* Working in an NHS environment.
* Working in a research or 3rd sector environment.
* Managing Successful Programmes (MSP) or Prince2 foundation.
