Job Title: Laboratory/Chemistry Technician Location: Middlesbrough Salary: £40k DOE Metalis are currently in partnership with a world leading facility who have an opportunity for a skilled Chemistry Technician to join their team. Duties and Responsibilities: Preparing samples, prior to analysis, by microwave dissolution and polishing / linishing/ sawing/shearing Booking of work into lab management-based computer system typing results and printing reports Undertaking chemical analysis of metal alloys using a wide variety of laboratory equipment and gas techniques such as combustion & fusion Undertaking powder characterisation tests such as particle size distribution, sieve analysis, flow rate, apparent density and tap density Ensuring that equipment maintenance, routine calibrations and quality control checks are performed on time and in accordance with documented procedures Contributing to the improvement in the organisation and efficiency of the workplace by implementing agreed continuous improvement ideas Monitoring of laboratory consumables and ordering new consumables as required Maintaining high standards of housekeeping within the laboratoryPerson Specification: Good standard or English, Maths and Science Previous experience in a laboratory environment Computer literateShifts and Salary: Shifts Up to £40k DOE 12 weeks temporary to permanent position If this role could be of interest, please apply now and one of out consultants will be in touch to discuss your application further
