Design Manager \n\nLocation - Birmingham \n\nAn excellent opportunity has arisen for a Design Manager to join a Tier 1 Contractor in the West Midlands.\n\nDesign Manager - Benefits \n\nCompetitive Salary\n\nAnnual Leave 25 days plus bank holidays\n\nPension scheme\n\nPrivate Healthcare\n\nLife Assurance\n\nDesign Manager Role \n\nThe Design Manager will work closely with the Senior Design Manager to support the successful implementation and ongoing management of the design process, ensuring that the design and procurement of specialist packages are delivered to meet project requirements in line with cost and support the project delivery teams by providing design input and cost-effective solutions.\n\nDesign Manager - Responsibilities\n\nManage the development and implementation of design proposals ensuring they meet customer requirements including budget constraints, presenting proposals for approval to the customer. \nManage and ensure effective briefing of the Design Team including M&E elements. This includes, where necessary, the management of any 3rd parties or novated design teams to ensure that they meet all customer specifications, and where necessary, checking the competence and resources of any incumbent design teams or 3rd parties.\nProvide advice and guidance on the design proposals to the construction teams on all packages.\nLiaise with all statutory bodies/authorities as required - such as town planning, building control and services e.g.
gas and water.\nLead the development and management of the design deliverables programme.\nWork alongside the Estimating, Project and BIM teams \n\nDesign Manager Role - Requirements \n\nBSc Construction Management Degree or similar\nRelevant Professional memberships with either RIBA, BIBSE, IET\nProven experience in delivering design services and successfully implementing design strategies\nExperience from a Tier 1 or Tier 2 Build Main Contractor is essential\nAble to form effective relationships with partners\nValid CSCS Card\nExcellent numeracy and bid/report writing \n\nFor further information, contact Amy Gough at the Birmingham office.\n\nFusion People are committed to promoting equal opportunities to people regardless of age, gender, religion, belief, race, sexuality or disability.
