Teaching Personnel's PWR team are seeking an experienced, dynamic, and visionary Head of Maths to lead a thriving and high-achieving mathematics department in Bexleyheath. This is an exceptional opportunity for a passionate and strategic leader to shape the future of mathematics education within the school and inspire students to achieve their full potential. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing strategic direction, developing and implementing innovative teaching and learning strategies, and fostering a culture of excellence within the department.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide strategic leadership and direction for the maths department, ensuring high standards of teaching and learning.
* Develop and implement innovative and engaging teaching and learning strategies that cater to the diverse needs of all students.
* Monitor and evaluate student progress, providing targeted support and intervention to ensure all students make excellent progress.
* Lead, mentor, and support a team of dedicated and talented maths teachers, fostering a collaborative and supportive environment.
* Contribute to the development and implementation of the school's curriculum, ensuring it is relevant, challenging, and engaging.
* Lead the development of extracurricular activities related to mathematics, promoting a love of the subject beyond the classroom.
* Analyse performance data to identify areas for improvement and implement effective strategies to raise attainment.
* Ensure that all departmental policies and procedures are in line with school and national guidelines.
* Organise and lead departmental meetings and professional development sessions.
TLR may be available for the right candidate, reflecting the responsibility and impact of this key leadership role.
