Pastoral/ Isolation department Support Assistant

First For Education are currently recruiting for a Pastoral/ Isolation department Support Assistant for a school located in Dudley.
This is an interim cover for 1 term and is for 5 days a week.

Job details:
You will be responsible for providing support for the school team taking prompt direct action on pastoral issues, liaising with the school team and the Vice Principal with responsibility for pastoral care within the Isolation department.
To provide support to children during transitions within the school. To promote children’s engagement with learning, through building positive relationships and encouraging children to remain ‘on task’ and to provide support on a one-to-one or group basis, as required.
The ideal candidate:
* has proven ability to work under pressure and is able to work alone and unsupervised
* proven track record of successfully working with disaffected young people
* is flexible, resilient, has a ‘can do’ attitude and is relentlessly positive
* can inspire students and staff to be the best they can be
* experience of assisting students in crisis and de-escalating situations
* excellent punctuality and organisational skills.
* enhanced DBS on the update service ideal (if not you will need to have a new check completed).
