EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW
In this role as a Telemetry Field Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the functionality and availability of Severn Trent’s 7,000 telemetry outstations, which serve as the ‘eyes and ears’ of the company’s operational assets.
For this role you must have an Electrical NVQ Level 3 or equivalent
These outstations are critical to the performance of Severn Trent’s operational ODIs and enable the Operational Control Centres to effectively respond to asset failure alarms. Your primary objective will be to complete any necessary field work to ensure that the entire outstation estate remains fully operational and available 100% of the time.
Other accountabilities will include:
1. Carry out reactive maintenance tasks to ensure 100% availability across our outstation estate (e.g., replace on failure, comms failure)
2. Complete both on-site and remote firmware upgrades across the outstation estate to improve Severn Trent’s cyber security position
3. Roll out the password policy across all outstations to ensure compliance with NIS-R
4. Identify and carry out improvement tasks on repeat offending sites
5. Carry out asset replacement and upgrades as part of the AMP8 outstation replacement programme (2G and PSTN)
WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO THE ROLE
In order to be successful in this role, it is expected that you will have excellent fault finding skills along with prior knowledge of telemetry outstations.
It would be good if you have worked with WITS compliant devices along with IP enabled devices.
For this role you must have NVQ Level 3 or equivalent
