An exciting opportunity to join our operation and technical team comprising pensions experts from different backgrounds, who are developing a cutting edge integrated admin and actuarial solution for our clients. We are recruiting experienced Defined Benefit pensions professionals to join us as a Pensions Calculation Specialists and act as specialists in the definition and automation of pension scheme calculations including all calculations needed for admin and actuarial service delivery. These professionals will apply their experience and expertise to design and deliver efficient individual and bulk calculation routines as part of our admin and actuarial solution. This is a unique chance to work in an innovative team developing new solutions for our clients and pension scheme members. The Role: You will create and customise tools and solutions, completing work to a high standard ready for senior peer review, and taking full responsibility for timely delivery of the work. You will resolve technical problems encountered during development and be able to identify when problems should be escalated to more senior team members. It is expected that you will be highly numerate with good reasoning skills and be used to working with modern software and ideally have a keen interest in developing technological solutions for the benefit of our clients. In addition, we expect good organisation skills and a self-starter attitude to complement your technical expertise. Some experience in pension data review and transitions in an admin, consulting or insurer context is advantageous as well as understanding of the typical calculations of a UK pension scheme. Self-starter attitude and ability to work well within ambiguity. Adeptness at learning new technology and tools. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Strong ability to think through problems and implement solutions. Demonstrated ability to multi-task and work on virtual teams. Process driven with ability to modify approach. Excellent time management and ability to meet deadlines. Working knowledge of MS Excel & Word. Good time management skills and the ability to organize and prioritize own workload. Problem solving and reasoning skills. Ability to work effectively as an unsupervised contributor or as part of a broader team. Experience establishing standards and procedures and advocate best practices. Strong knowledge and experience of UK DB Pension arrangements, including experience of member calculations An innovative approach to solving problems; openness to new solutions.
