Salary circa £50,000 (depending on experience) plus potential 8% bonus, private medical insurance, and other fantastic benefits.
Position Summary

We now have fantastic opportunities for talented, driven individuals to join our production teams as a Shift Manager, based at our Nestlé Purina factory in Sudbury, Suffolk.

A day in the life of a Shift Manager…
As the Shift Manager you will be responsible for ensuring that across site the production plan is fully achieved on time and in compliance with standards and legal requirements, meeting safety, quality, hygiene, cost and environment needs in a 24-hour, 7 day a week operation, as well as all people management responsibility.
Other key day-to-day activities will be:
1. You will have uncompromising drive for Standards and our Key Standard Routine journey ensuring results are delivered consistently and any deviation are actioned using continuous improvement and selective TPM tools.
2. Maintain a safe working environment in compliance with local laws, SHE and Quality standards by identifying risks associated to activities within zone and ensure reactive incidents are managed and resolved or escalated.
3. Support Engineering on unplanned stops root cause and resolution.
4. Support and execute identified planned tasks. Liaise with support departments and use their resources to make necessary changes.
5. Effectively manage the Shift Operational Review and the Autonomous Working Group (AWG).
6. Adopt and nurture a working style which actively involves and motivates colleagues, promoting an environment of continuous improvement and excellence.
7. Develop organisational capability by supporting and co-ordinating in the transfer and enhancement of skills through coaching others and share current best practice within the team.
What will make you successful
To be successful in this key role we expect you to have experience working in a FMCG manufacturing environment and have strong service orientation amongst internal stakeholders with lots of proactive initiative and attention to detail. Other key attributes we are looking for are:
1. Experience managing, motivating, coaching and coordinating a large shift to deliver results.
2. Able to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced production environment, with a high-energy, proactive style.
3. Ability to demonstrate coaching techniques.
4. Skills to identify root causes of the problems and in setting plans to reduce or eliminate them.
5. Experience using SAP or equivalent technology.
6. High level of mechanical and technical comprehension would be advantageous.
7. Understanding of Safety, Engineering, Quality and Labour regulations.
8. TPM or Lean Manufacturing experience is desirable.
