VANRATH are delighted to be assisting our client, a Public Sector organisation with the recruitment of a Procurement Officer to join their team based in Belfast.
Salary: £32,000 per year - £16.63 per hour.
Responsibilities:
* To review, categorise, prioritise and action all Purchase Requisitions received from user departments.
* Management of purchase orders from order placement to delivery.
* To source and price goods and services as required.
* Dealing with enquiries from prospective suppliers.
* Assistance in tendering processes.
* Ownership of procurement document management systems; ensuring there is regular review and updates whilst highlighting any area of concern or action points.
* Contract management and review.
* Assist in performing governance role to ensure compliance with company policy and aide reporting of breaches under the policy.
* Ensure the efficient running of Stores.
The Ideal Person:
* General Education to include GCSE Maths and English Grade C.
* At least 2 years' relevant experience of procurement.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office packages.
* Understanding of all aspects of the contracting process and experience of managing contracts.
* Able to satisfy security checks.
Desirable Criteria:
* CIPS qualification or equivalent or actively working towards qualification.
* Knowledge of electronic tendering and contract management systems.
