Gilbert & Goode, an award-winning new homes developer in the South West, is seeking a full-time, permanent Commercial Manager to drive the commercial success and performance of residential schemes. As part of the Ocean Housing Group, Gilbert & Goode is renowned for creating great places to live and delivering an excellent customer experience.
You will play a critical role in ensuring the efficient operation of the Commercial department, developing and implementing robust procedures commercial systems and standards for all surveying and procurement. You will manage and motivate the team, ensuring the services we offer are continually improving and providing excellent standards and value for money. With a strategic outlook, you will develop a professional tendering service with the aim of winning new work for the company’s order book, which meets business plan targets for turnover and profit. You will be flexible, and able to take on a wide variety of commercial activity – managing a diverse portfolio, seeking out new opportunities and fully utilising our existing assets. You will be a strong leader, with strong commercial acumen and will understand the need to make our assets work for us and generate profits for future investment.
Educated to degree level or equivalent, you will be an experienced Commercial Manager, with a strong understanding of financial management, and will be accustomed to analysing financial data, project costs and contractual terms to make informed decisions. Reporting to the Managing Director, you will be instrumental in developing and supporting the service. Ensuring value for money, sound budget management and forecasting, you will have a track record of delivering service improvements, including contributing to the development of business plans, strategies and policies to identify areas for improvement and growth.
