Candidate Profile
As a French Polisher & Carpenter you will be an exceptional team player and have a passion for delivering an outstanding guest experience. Under the general guidance and supervision of the Head of Engineering and you will maintain and repair our guestroom facilities and public/ back of house area facilities within the property to achieve optimum guest comfort whilst maintaining cost to a minimum. Please be aware that you will be required to work a variety of shifts (including day and night shifts).
Duties and responsibilities for the French Polisher & Carpenter include:
Responsible for the upkeep, maintenance and restoration of all wood furniture, fixtures and fittings, in both Hotel & Spa
Pro-actively conducts planned restoration of wood surfaces, to ensure optimal aesthetic excellence
Pro-actively identifies wood surfaces, including furniture, doors, fixtures etc in need of restoration or touch ups
Pro-actively seeks areas of Hotel & Spa in need of Painting & Decorating, including bespoke finishes
Maintains paint and decorative finishes to high quality standards in guest facing areas and Back of House
To assist other trades within the department when requested/required
Responsible for ensuring paint & polish shop area is kept clean and tidy
Responsible for assisting the Engineering Management to maintain stocks and the correct materials/colours strictly in-line with the original designers specification
Key Requirements
The ideal French Polisher & Carpenter would be able to demonstrate the following attributes:
* Proven track record of painting and decorating to a high-level finish ideally within an Engineering Department in Hospitality or similar (facilities/building maintenance)
* Proven track record of French Polishing to a high-level finish
* Excellent command of the English language and a second language would be preferred
* Immaculate grooming standards.
* This role will be required to carry out manual handling and on occasion heavy lifting
