Following a retendering process, thechildren's service is due to be transferred to the new provider on the 1st ofApril 2025. Given this post sits within the transferring service, in line withthe legislative requirements, the successful candidate will be part of the TUPEtransfer along with other colleagues.

You will havethe opportunity to deliver the 0-19 Public Health Programme for exampledevelopmental reviews, infant feeding, parenting and behaviour managementadvice. Whilst working within a borough based teamyou will be supported by our Clinical Team Leaders, Practice Assessors ,Clinical Service Managers and our Safe Guarding Team.

Main duties of the job
Undertake dutiesas allocated by the SCPHN.
Build anddevelop good working relationships the wider multi-disciplinary team.
Make contactwith children, young people and families in a variety of community settings family homes, family centres, child health drop-ins and clinics.
To undertakedevelopment assessments when trained to do so.
To manage adelegated case load
Provideevidence based care to parents and children breast feeding, behaviour management
Identify andsupport children, young people and families through health needs assessments whohave unmet health needs, provide support and targeted interventions and wherenecessary refer to specialist services
Takeappropriate action in cases of suspected or actual child abuse, working withinSurrey safeguarding childrens code of practice and procedures.
Attend childprotection conferences/core groups as required and participate in safeguardingsupervision
Assist inresearch and service audits
Supervisejunior member and pre-Registration student nurses in the 0-19 team as directedby the SCPHN. Undertake junior staff PDR appraisals and direct line management.Participate inmeetings as appropriate
Be prepared tobe flexible within contracted hours
In accordancewith the needs of the service, undertake other duties as required

Job responsibilities
The post holder will be a member of the 0-19 public health team delivering the 0-19 Healthy Child Programme. Supported by the Specialist Community Public Health Nurse(SCPHN), the post holder will participate in delivering a universal core service, provide targeted interventions, to address health inequalities and where necessary referring to specialist services. This role will also include safeguarding responsibilities, mentorship of students and staff appraisals

Essential
1. Evidence of personal development and acquisition of transferable skills relevant to the job description
2. Understanding of current issues affecting the NHS public health agenda
3. Previous experience of working as part of a team
4. Understanding of clinical governance with some previous experience of undertaking audits
5. Experience of working within multi-disciplinary teams
Desirable
6. Relevant experience of working with children, young people and families,
7. Completion of safeguarding modules
8. Immunisation training and/or experience
9. Clinical supervisor training and experience
10. Knowledge of developmental milestones in children under 5
11. Infant feeding knowledge and experience.
