HR Officer - East Yorkshire
We are looking for an experienced HR Officer to join our client, a growing Manufacturing business with sites across East Yorkshire.
About the role
The HR Officer will play a critical role in supporting the company’s people agenda across multiple sites. This includes handling day-to-day HR functions, ensuring compliance with employment law, supporting managers with employee relations, and contributing to workforce planning and development. The role requires a proactive and hands-on approach to drive employee engagement and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities as HR Officer:
* Serve as the first point of contact for employees and managers regarding HR policies and procedures.
* Advise and support managers on ER issues, including disciplinary actions, grievances, and absence management.
* Conduct investigations, take notes during hearings, and ensure legal and procedural compliance.
* Coordinate end-to-end recruitment processes, including job postings, screening, interviewing, and onboarding.
* Develop and maintain talent pipelines to meet the organization’s needs.
* Ensure new hires receive a comprehensive induction to integrate into the company effectively.
* Identify training needs in collaboration with line managers and arrange development opportunities.
* Track mandatory training compliance and evaluate the effectiveness of training programs.
* Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records using HR systems.
* Prepare and process documentation related to contracts, benefits, and terminations.
* Ensure compliance with labour laws, health and safety regulations, and company policies.
* Assist in organizing employee engagement initiatives.
* Participate in DEI (Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion) activities and promote a positive workplace culture.
* Monitor HR metrics such as turnover, absenteeism, and employee satisfaction.
Qualifications and Skills as HR Officer:
Essential:
* Proven experience in an HR generalist role, preferably in a manufacturing or multi-site environment.
* CIPD Level 5 qualification or equivalent.
* Knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practices.
* Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport and influence stakeholders at all levels.
* Exceptional organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
* Proficient in HR systems and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
* Understanding of health and safety requirements in manufacturing environments.
* Full UK Driving Licence; the role will require travel to manufacturing sites around East Yorkshire.

* Hull: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required).
Experience:
* HR Officer: 3 years (preferred).
* Manufacturing: 1 year (preferred).
Licence/Certification:
* CIPD Level 5 or equivalent (required).
* Driving Licence (required).
