Role: Duty Manager
Location: Penwortham Leisure Centre
Contract: Part Time (18 hours per week) / Fixed Term Contract (31st March 2025)
Salary: £27,334 (Pro rata) - £14.46 per hour
Closing Date: 8th November 2024
We are looking for a Temporary Part time (18 hours a week) Duty Manager to join our team at Penwortham Leisure Centre. If you are passionate and/or experienced in the leisure industry, if you feel like you can provide and be a key asset to the team and members of the South Ribble community, then this opportunity is for you.
Ideally, you will have experience of working within a similar environment and have good knowledge of Leisure operations.
What you’ll be getting up to:
The Duty Manager will manage the facility on a day-to-day basis ensuring all activities are delivered to a high and safe standard. You will provide a great service to the public along with managing and supervising the centre team.
You will be responsible for the operation of the pool plant, ensuring Pool Water Treatment Advisory Group (PWTAG) guidance, health and safety guidance (HSG179) and internal protocols are adhered to at all times.
You will undertake Risk Assessments and provide an excellent service to all our customer and customers who may require additional support for example, customers with a disability, young people, new and expectant mothers. following health and safety protocols and policies including undertaking risk assessments at a local level.
You will inspect and monitor all areas of the centre throughout the day and designate staff to routine duties as required. You will control and manage events such as accidents and emergencies and, ensure compliance with statutory requirements, health and safety and company policies and procedures.
You will Induct new recruits and support employee training. Ensuring that staff members comply with mandatory and relevant training requirements in relation to health and safety.
You will work in a flexible manner and during unsociable hours, including evenings and weekends and on a shift rota

* You'll ideally have experience working in the leisure industry.
* You will be able to work independently, and able to cooperate in a team environment to assist in the day to day operations in the workplace.

* You will support effective relationships across all Directorates, with stakeholders and external partners to ensure the Council’s priorities and objectives are met.
* You will positively always promote and represent the Council.
* You will hold the relevant qualifications to this role (NPLQ, IOSH, PPO, FAW)
