Role Overview: We’re looking for a Community Manager to lead the development and growth of a new professional marketing community. Reporting to the Growth Director, this role will be responsible for launching and nurturing a vibrant digital space for marketers to connect, collaborate, and share best practice. The Community Manager will bring energy, strategic thinking, and a people-first approach to drive engagement, build reputation, and support long-term business growth. Purpose: To create and maintain a thriving, inclusive space for professional marketers to connect and collaborate. To drive engagement, member growth, and meaningful participation within the community To support the agency’s wider marketing and business development strategy through thought leadership and relationship building. To represent the agency’s values and ambition through community leadership. Responsibilities: Community Strategy & Launch: Plan and execute the launch of a new digital community Develop onboarding journeys, engagement plans, and content calendars Create and enforce community guidelines to ensure a respectful and inclusive environment Define and track KPIs for growth and engagement Member Engagement & Content: Facilitate daily conversation and engagement within the platform Curate and create relevant, useful content for members (e.g. prompts, polls, resources) Host and moderate virtual events, AMAs, and roundtable sessions Plan and deliver a regular newsletter highlighting member stories and industry trends Outreach & Growth: Promote the community through internal channels, paid campaigns, and partnership outreach Coordinate referral and ambassador programmes to grow membership Manage the member onboarding experience to increase activation and retention Collaborate with the wider Growth team to align efforts with Hallam’s marketing strategy Monitoring & Moderation: Ensure member conversations align with community values Moderate content and manage member feedback Track engagement data and implement improvements to increase value Identify key contributors and potential community advocates Events & In-Person Engagement: Support the planning and delivery of virtual and in-person events as the community evolves Coordinate logistics, speaker outreach, and post-event follow-up Capture insights and member feedback to shape future programming KPIs: Active member growth (monthly and quarterly targets) Member engagement rate (posts, comments, reactions per member) Event attendance and satisfaction scores Newsletter open and click-through rates Community-driven leads or opportunities identified Positive feedback from members and internal teams Requirements: 3 years’ experience in community management, marketing, or a related role Proven ability to engage and grow online communities (preferably B2B/professional) Strong written communication and interpersonal skills Confident hosting and moderating virtual events Organised, proactive, and comfortable working independently Familiarity with Slack, email marketing platforms, and basic design tools (e.g. Canva) Passionate about marketing, connection, and values-led business growth About Hallam We’re not just some self-obsessed agency promising table tennis and unlimited snacks in exchange for your soul.
