Job Title: Service Charge Accountant Location: North West London Salary: £45,000 About the Role: WE are seeking an experienced Service Charge Accountant to join our dedicated team, supporting the financial management of a growing portfolio of high-end residential and mixed-use developments. This role is pivotal in ensuring accurate and efficient service charge accounting, compliance with regulations, and delivering exceptional support to both clients and internal teams. Key Responsibilities: Prepare and manage service charge budgets, ensuring accuracy and alignment with operational requirements. Conduct year-end service charge reconciliations and liaise with external auditors to finalize accounts. Monitor and manage expenditure against budgets, providing clear and detailed reports to stakeholders. Work closely with Property Managers to review and adjust service charge budgets as required. Oversee accounts payable and receivable related to service charges, ensuring timely invoicing and collections. Handle client and resident queries regarding service charge accounts, resolving issues promptly and professionally. Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, including RICS guidelines and lease agreements. Assist in refining financial procedures and controls to improve efficiency and accuracy. Candidate Profile: Proven experience in service charge accounting, ideally within the property management or real estate sector. Strong understanding of lease agreements, service charge apportionments, and relevant regulations. Proficiency in accounting software and advanced Excel skills. Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities. Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to explain complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
