We are seeking a Financial Controller to join our Ingredients Business Unit for a 18 month fixed term contract. This role is pivotal in providing financial decision-making support and acting as a key business partner. The successful candidate will drive improvements in commercial decision-making, operational and financial control, reporting, and forecasting within the Ingredients area, which includes bulk products such as Butter, Powder, Cream, and Liquids.
Main Responsibilities:
Support the Commercial Director and Head of Financial Controlling in evaluating the strategic direction of the division.
Design robust decision-making processes for market participation.
Develop forward-looking pricing strategy tools and systems to understand the impact of currency fluctuations.
Full responsibility for the Ingredients P&L and Balance Sheet in SAP.
Review monthly reporting and future outlooks, including budgets and forecasts.
Investigate, explain, and challenge variances to forecast impacting profitability.
Ensure financial impacts of all activities are analysed and understood before decisions are made.
Oversee capital expenditure requests and post-completion payback assessments.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives and challenge teams to achieve targets.
Manage two direct reports and provide cover for the Head of Financial Controlling when needed.
Provide business partner support to the Commercial Director and assist in delivering key projects.
Key Requirements:
CIMA or ACCA qualified with 5 years of post-qualification experience.
Proven experience in the FMCG environment.
Excellent systems capability, ideally with SAP experience.
Strong influencing capabilities and commercial acumen.
Excellent relationship-building and communication skills.
Experience in producing detailed budgets and forecasts with full variance analysis.
Proven experience in a manufacturing environment.
Ability to work on own initiative with a proactive and “can-do” attitude.
Excellent organisational skills with extreme attention to detail.
