We are exceptional people delivering exceptional care and support, and we are looking for a Mental Health Practitioner (Quality and Practice) to join our team in the South of England.
As a member of the Quality and Practice Team, utilising your mental health knowledge and practice experience you will provide quality support to our service by building the capacity and resilience of our teams and ensuring and enabling the highest quality of support delivery across assessment, risk management, recovery interventions and support approaches.
The Quality and practice team ensure that our mental health services are well informed and equipped in supporting people with mental health and associated needs. Working collaboratively with scheme managers within the supported housing schemes to influence a culture of positive risk taking and development of good practice.

Key Responsibilities
* Working in partnership with scheme managers within the supported housing schemes to influence a culture of positive risk taking and development of good practice.
* Supporting practice that allows teams to work through complexities associated with the duty of care, safeguarding, autonomy, and capacity.
* Utilising clinical and practice-based knowledge to contribute to the high standards of practice development, coaching, governance, risk management and safeguarding.
* Developing and maintaining good partnership working with other services including primary health care teams and voluntary sectors.
* Supporting colleagues in reducing the risks of secondary trauma, particularly in the context of working with people who harm themselves.
* Responsibility for building the capacity and resilience of colleagues through facilitation of Reflective Practice, Education, post incident de-brief and training.
* Actively participate in the development and delivery of education and training programmes to overcome identified trends in practice and lessons learned including those arising from incident and complaint investigations.
* To assist with empowering and enabling the staff/teams to ensure that support is delivered to the highest standards, utilising research and evidence-based practice, in line with Lifeways policies and procedures.
* Co-facilitation and contribution to delivery of the Mental Health Recovery Training.
* Delivering positive and proactive support approaches where people use substances and have mental health problems and ensuring proactive multi-agency awareness and involvement.
Essential Skills, Experience and Qualifications
* Formal health and social care qualification that permits registration with a UK professional body, e.g. Registered Social Worker, Registered Occupational Therapist, Registered Mental Health Nurse.
* Significant experience in front line mental health services. This will ideally be from community mental health services.
* Knowledge of, and ability to promote, a recovery-orientated approach.
* High degree of knowledge of mental health; contributors to poor mental health; impact of co-occurring conditions including physical health; mental health conditions; assessment of mental health; support and treatment approaches; risk assessment and management.
* Experience and ability to develop thorough support plans that ensure person centred, recovery-oriented practice, with appropriate positive risk strategies.
* Experience of and ability to articulate and deliver practice that recognises potential challenges between duty of care, safeguarding, autonomy, and capacity.
* Ability to coach, train and mentor others.
* Ability to develop positive relationships with external and partner organisations in working to provide a cohesive service.
* Ability to manage own workload and time, while working across several services with competing demands.
* A standard of IT skills appropriate to an experienced and independently functioning practitioner, e.g. ability to create good-quality assessment reports. This will include ability to confidently use Word, Excel, PowerPoint and internal and external web-based systems.
