Community Integrated Care is one of the UK’s largest health and social care charities. We work hard to enrich the lives of people with many different care needs. It’s exciting and rewarding work, and we’re full of pride and passion for what we do.
Since the early days, we’ve grown to provide many innovative and bespoke care services to thousands of people across England and Scotland. We want to provide support based on the principles of choice, dignity, and respect. This resonates in our vision of ‘Your Life, Your Choice’ and our strategy ‘Best Lives Possible’.
We have strong values and we’re proud to pioneer new ways of delivering social care to stand out in our sector. In the past two years, we have won or made the shortlist for over national and regional awards!
We are also focused on our people. Our Support Workers are dedicated and passionate about going ‘the extra mile’ for the people we support, and in return, we invest in pay, recognition, wellbeing, and continued professional and personal development. We will provide you with all the training, support, and personal protective equipment you need in your role and will help you develop, should you decide you want to develop your career with us.
**One of the values of Community Integrated Care is our passion for our people, and every year we invest in our frontline worker pay in line with the Living Wage increase each April. Our promise has always been clear: we will do everything in our power to improve pay for colleagues.
Who you’ll be supporting & more about the role:
All our supported individuals need gentle, caring, bubbly support workers with caring natures.
We enjoy fun days in the summer, BBQs, and water fights.
One individual loves walks in the community, so support workers who enjoy walking are great.
We also like drives, so a driving license is beneficial for the service.
It is our aim to ensure anyone with profound physical or learning disabilities can live their best possible lives with dignity, independence, and choice.
Our people supported enjoy days out at the coast, sealife centres, holidays in the UK and abroad.
At Summerson House, we have an experienced local team led by Service Leader Sarah Lowery, who has over a decade of experience supporting adults with support needs. She started her career as a Support Worker and is supported by a team of 20 dedicated colleagues passionate about delivering excellent person-centred care. All colleagues undertake structured induction and specialist training to ensure they have the knowledge and skills to support your loved one safely. We have our own in-house Training Team and collaborate with local professionals and expert training providers.
Our values:
We know it takes a special person to work in social care, and we recognize that not everyone who is perfect for the role will have professional experience. That’s why we’re passionate about recruiting based on individuals’ values and we recruit people from all walks of life; from those with extensive experience in support roles, those with lived experiences, or no experience at all.
It’s important that you share our company values - We Include; We Deliver; We Aspire; We Respect; We Enable - which are central to everything we do to ensure high-quality, consistent care and support.
People's values are important to us, so we look for:
* Patience
* Empathy, compassion, and sensitivity to others
* A strong work ethic
* Reliability
* Honesty
* Determination
* A problem solver
* Resilience
