Senior Social Worker – Family Team – West Yorkshire
Location: West Yorkshire
Houlry rate: £42.00 - £45.00 (depending on experience)
Hours: Monday to Friday, Full-Time

Belmont Recruitment are currently working with a highly regarded local authority in West Yorkshire who are looking to appoint a committed and experienced Senior Social Worker to join their Family Team. This is a brilliant opportunity to step into a leadership role within a supportive, child-focused service that’s dedicated to achieving the best outcomes for families across the region.
As a Senior Social Worker, you’ll take responsibility for complex and high-risk cases, provide support and guidance to junior team members, and play a key role in driving service quality across the team. You’ll work in a multi-agency environment to help families navigate challenging circumstances, with a strong focus on safeguarding, early intervention, and long-term stability.
Key Responsibilities:

Hold and manage a caseload of complex child protection, child in need, and looked-after children cases
*
Complete high-quality assessments, care plans, and interventions in line with statutory responsibilities
*
Provide mentoring, supervision, and practice guidance to newly qualified and less experienced social workers
*
Chair multi-agency meetings and contribute to court proceedings, where necessary
*
Champion best practice and lead by example within the team, supporting continuous improvement
*
Build effective working relationships with children, families, and external agencies
*
Ensure all work is undertaken in accordance with relevant legislation, policies, and procedures
*
Promote the voice of the child and ensure all work is inclusive, respectful, and strength-based
Requirements:
*
Qualified Social Worker with Social Work England
*
Significant post-qualifying experience in children and families social work
*
Strong understanding of safeguarding frameworks, care planning, and relevant legislation
*
Proven ability to manage complex cases and support others through supervision or informal mentoring
*
Excellent communication and organisational skills
*
Commitment to reflective practice, development, and high-quality service delivery
*
A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle is highly desirable
