Job Title: Team Leader - Children’s Residential Care Location: [Hoddesdon] Salary: £14.00 per hour About the Role We are seeking a dedicated Team Leader to support the Registered Manager in the day-to-day operations of a children’s residential home. This role involves leading and developing a team to ensure high-quality care and support for children and young people, in line with Ofsted standards and Children’s Home Regulations. You will act as a role model, coaching staff and ensuring young people receive the best possible care and opportunities for personal growth. Key Responsibilities Assist in the management and development of the home and staff. Ensure compliance with Children’s Home Regulations and Ofsted’s quality standards. Support young people’s personal development, well-being, and transition into adulthood. Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Support Workers, ensuring high performance and adherence to best practices. Oversee the creation and implementation of placement plans and Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) plans. Promote young people’s engagement in social, recreational, and community activities. Maintain a safe, nurturing, and homely environment for children and young people. Liaise with families, professionals, and external agencies to coordinate care and support. Ensure effective health & safety measures and risk assessments are in place. Support in external meetings and reviews, ensuring young people’s progress is well documented and communicated. Requirements Experience working in children’s residential care or a similar setting. Strong leadership, mentoring, and team management skills. Knowledge of Children’s Home Regulations, safeguarding procedures, and Ofsted standards. Excellent communication and relationship-building skills. Ability to work flexibly, including evenings, weekends, and on-call duties as required. A relevant Level 3 qualification in Residential Childcare (or equivalent) (or willingness to work towards it).
