Your role and responsibilities
As a Risk and Resilience Support Officer, you will play a key role in gathering and collating risk information on premises and sites across Suffolk for our operational crews. This information is vital in enabling crews to carry out their duties as safely as possible.
Here’s a glimpse into what your typical week will look like:
1. Conducting and managing the Operational Risk Inspection process, including site visits and compiling Operational Risk Information within recognised guidelines.
2. Maintaining Operational Risk information of various platforms.
3. Coordinating the Operational Risk Inspection schedule to ensure service measures are met.
4. Providing district support as a single point of contact for Operational Risk.
5. Providing guidance at Local Authority Safety Advisory Group meetings, ensuring plans are accurate and communicated to relevant stakeholders.
6. Maintaining the SFRS areas within Resilience Direct, including sharing cross-border information.
You will need
1. Practical knowledge of SFRS fire stations, the generic fire and rescue service departmental structure, operational incident categories, mobilising arrangements, and operational procedures and terminology.
2. Strong IT skills including excellent knowledge of Microsoft 365 products.
3. Strong communication skills with the ability to share knowledge and present new information to others, potentially in a formal setting.
4. Able to work to multiple deadlines and prioritise tasks effectively to meet tight deadlines, particularly in relation to important risk information.
5. Excellent attention to detail, with a passion for creating and maintaining efficient and effective processes and procedures.
