Job overview
This is an exciting opportunity to join the Forensic Intellectual and Neurodevelopmental Disabilities (FIND) Community Team. The forensic service sits within the Specialist Service Line of the Trust.
The post holder will be joining a skilled, motivated and innovative multidisciplinary team committed to continual learning and development and will be offered excellent CPD opportunities.
This is a less than full time role comprising 5PAs being offered on a locum basis. In this role you will be able to work Monday to Friday in the time frames from 9am to 5pm.
Main duties of the job
The post-holder will provide medical leadership to the FIND Community Team. The FIND Community Team works with adults with a diagnosis of a Learning Disability and/or Autism who also experience co-morbid mental illness alongside offending behaviours.
The FIND Team will provide community treatment and care coordination, including social and clinical supervision of restricted cases in the community.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
* Medical leadership in the multi-disciplinary team.
* Overall responsibility for the day-to-day clinical care, risk assessment, risk management, medication management and recovery focused care.
* Multi-disciplinary and multi-agency working with social care, statutory and voluntary partners.
* Engagement in gatekeeping assessments of referrals.
Person specification
QUALIFICATIONS:
* Primary Medical degree.
* Full GMC registration.
* Included on the GMC Specialist Register for Forensic or Learning Disability Psychiatry or eligible for such inclusion.
* Section 12 (2) approval of the Mental Health Act.
* Approved Clinician status.
* Qualifications in change management and service development skills.
KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE:
* Completed minimum of three years full time training in approved higher psychiatric training scheme.
* A detailed knowledge of main treatment approaches for intellectual disabilities and autism.
* Knowledge and experience of the ICETR process.
AUDIT AND MANAGEMENT
* Commitment to developing practice through clinical audit and/or research.
* Experience of service planning and development.
RESEARCH AND PUBLICATIONS:
* Evidence of participation in research.
* Publication in a peer reviewed journal.
TEACHING:
* Experience of teaching undergraduate and postgraduate psychiatry.
PERSONAL SKILLS AND CHARACTERISTICS:
* Ability to remain calm under pressure.
* Ability to inspire others.
* Ability to negotiate and collaborate.
