Concept Resources require a CNC Lathe Programmer/Setter/Operator to join our client, a growing and innovative family business specializing in high-quality CNC Precision Machining. We have 3, 4, and 5 axis CNC machines, as well as EDM Wiring capability. Our customers include Pharmaceutical, Renewable, Engine Test, Packaging, and Security Industries. The candidate will work closely with other members of our busy Production Team, responsible for producing parts to customer drawings. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in sub-contract machining, experience in a production engineering environment, be capable and competent in using Fanuc Control, and have an understanding of offline CAD/CAM Software.
The ideal applicant will be proficient in programming, setting, and operating CNC Lathes, preferably with driven tooling, including our Mori Seiki, Doosan Puma, and Lynx machines. Flexibility and a “can do” approach in programming, setting, and operating all these machines when necessary is key, in covering holidays, sickness, and potential extended hours to suit business needs.
Technical knowledge and an approach to tooling and machining varied materials will also be required. Identifying and implementing continuous process improvements to increase efficiency and output is essential for driving the company forward.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
1. To program, set, and operate CNC Turning machines to produce component parts to drawing and process requirements.
2. The CNC Turner will assist in the manufacturing of parts through the production process, ensuring planned times for setting and manufacturing are met or improved, and high-quality parts produced within required performance, cost, and delivery targets.
3. Setting and Operating CNC Lathe Machines using Fanuc controls.
4. Programming from print drawings.
5. Ability to work to high standards on tight tolerances.
6. Adhering to quality standards and checking work using a variety of different instruments.
7. Mainly small batch work using a variety of materials.
8. You may be required to work alternative shifts/hours.
9. You may be required to perform any other reasonable duties/specific projects from time to time as directed by management.
Key Competencies and Experience:
1. Experience using CNC Machines with Fanuc controls.
2. Good working knowledge of component dimensions using various inspection equipment - including but not limited to Micrometers, Verniers, and Plug Gauges.
3. Good working knowledge of manufacturing techniques and Engineering drawings is essential.
4. Ability to produce components to drawing tolerance and specifications, efficiently and accurately as required by internal and external customer specifications.
