Job Title: Reprographics Operative
Salary: £13,122.84 per annum
Contract: Permanent, Part Time
Total Weekly Contractual Hours: 21 (Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday)
Location: HMS Collingwood, Atlantic Building, Newgate Lane, Fareham, Hampshire, England, PO14 1AS
This is an opportunity to join an experienced and versatile team that delivers first-class administration services to our world-class Armed Forces personnel. The role of the Reprographics Operative involves the operation of all reprographic equipment, ensuring an efficient reprographic service while scheduling and prioritizing job requests. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing and delivering reprographic support services to meet the needs of the customer at HMS Collingwood and HMS Sultan.
Key Duties:
1. Producing printed or electronic documents through digital printing or document scanning.
2. Ensuring that finished documents meet customer specifications, including collation, paper folding, guillotining, stapling, bookmaking, binding, and laminating.
3. Discussing job requirements with customers to ensure work is completed to the required standard and on time.
4. Operating and maintaining reprographic equipment, performing tasks such as changing toner and clearing paper jams.
5. Carrying out inventory checks, maintaining stock control, and ordering paper, ink, and other consumables.
6. Collating and maintaining a spreadsheet of monthly output, reporting figures to the Line Manager.
7. Ensuring compliance with current Health and Safety Regulations, Copyright, and the General Data Protection Regulations.
8. Transporting publications between local sites using a company vehicle.
9. Other duties as assigned by the Line Manager.
The ideal candidate will be well-organized, precise, and confident with strong communication skills, able to contribute at all levels. They will be versatile, intuitive, and professional, demonstrating good judgment and integrity. The individual should be proactive, persuasive when needed, and responsive to changing business needs and customer demands while remaining calm under pressure and self-motivated. Qualifications:
1. Excellent organizational and customer service skills.
2. Experience working to tight deadlines.
3. A suitable driving license (minimum of Cat B).
4. A strong understanding of reprographics technology.
5. The ability to problem-solve both independently and within a team.
6. Credible verbal and written communication skills.
7. IT literacy (especially with MS Office applications).
8. The ability to manage short-notice changes to requirements and deadlines.
9. A good standard of education.
Additional Information:
MOD security clearance and DBS Standard required. To meet national security vetting requirements, you will normally need to have been resident in the UK for at least 3 years to gain a Counter Terrorist Check, 5 years for Security Clearance and 10 years for Developed Vetting prior to the date of application. All Developed Vetted posts are required to be UK Nationals.
Proof Of Right To Work In UK Is Essential.
The Contract operates a 21-hour working week between the hours of 08.00 to 16.00, between Tue, Wed, Thu – but may be negotiable and flexible to suit both individual and contract requirement.
Required to wear approved company work wear.
