Position Overview: Our firm is seeking motivated technical professionals with strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills to join our team as a full-time Project Engineer. We are a licensed Civil and Environmental Engineering firm in Connecticut, focused on delivering quality technical services to municipal and institutional clients, as well as federal and state agencies.
Key Responsibilities:
* Design civil and environmental projects, including sanitary sewers, wastewater pump stations, subsurface sewage disposal systems (both small and large scale), and water supply systems.
* Understand and apply the design and permitting criteria set by the Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection and the Connecticut Department of Public Health.
* Prepare detailed construction drawings and specifications.
* Write reports and perform cost estimates.
* Present findings and proposals to land use commissions and clients.
* Primarily office-based (95%) with some fieldwork (5%).
Qualifications:
* Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
* Minimum of 3 years of experience in municipal engineering and infrastructure improvement projects.
* EIT certification required; PE certification preferred.
* Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D.
* Strong skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
* Excellent oral and written communication skills, along with strong organizational and interpersonal abilities.
* Ability to work both independently and under supervision.
* Competent in performing accurate engineering computations.
* Ambitious and eager to learn, adapt, and grow professionally.
* Committed to working efficiently and effectively.
* Strong leadership and delegation skills.
* Excellent research and analytical abilities.
* Proficient in reading and interpreting plans and specifications.
