Job Description:
We are looking for a hands-on developer to join our FS client's team. You will be responsible for the health of there internal KDB+/q ecosystem and ensuring the continued success of thousands of KDB users.
You will work with a UK-based team of passionate subject matter experts, developers, data scientists, and technical leads across the firm.
Your role will involve maintaining an extensive library of C++ plug-ins for KDB users and engineering internal tools and libraries where necessary. While this is primarily a C++ role, you will need to be open to learning and working with KDB+/q and Python.
Work Environment:
You will be working in a UK-based team with passionate subject matter experts, developers, data scientists, and technical leads. The role involves using technologies such as C++, Python, KDB+/q, Docker, and Kubernetes. The work schedule includes three days onsite and two days remote, ensuring a balance between collaboration and flexibility.
Day To Day:
* Maintain an extensive library of C++ plug-ins for KDB users.
* Engineer internal tools and libraries where necessary.
* Collaborate with UK-based team of programming-language subject matter experts, developers, data scientists, and technical leads.
* Ensure the continued success of thousands of KDB users.
* Work with new languages, including KDB+/q and Python.
Essential Skills:
* Core C++ development experience.
* Python development experience.
* Familiarity with the enterprise Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).
* Familiarity with Linux.
* Good communication and organisation skills.
Additional Skills:
* Prior experience with OCI containerisation tools/platforms (such as Docker, Kubernetes).
* Prior KDB+/q experience or willingness to learn on the job.
* High-level understanding of Windows development.
