We have an exciting opportunity for Activities Coordinator to join our friendly and experienced specialist brain injury and neurological care service.
We provide individualised assessment and intensive rehabilitation to help people recover from a brain injury. At all times we work to achieve the best possible outcomes in terms of independence and quality of life.
Murdostoun Brain Injury Rehabilitation Centre provides specialist care for up to 46 residents at any one time.
We have a minibus for appointments and some fun outings and a state-of-the-art therapy pool, which allows our residents to focus on re-gaining cognitive abilities that may have been lost. A specially designed therapy kitchen allows users to learn new skills that will serve them long after they have left our care. We also have a gymnasium where all residents are encouraged to keep themselves active and socialise with others.
We are extremely proud to be accredited as an approved provider of specialist Brain Injury Care by the Headway Brain Injury Association.
What you'll be working:
We're flexible, so you'll work a total of 36.25 hours per week, Monday - Friday 9am - 5pm.
What you'll be doing:
The Activity Coordinator will be responsible for planning, organizing, and overseeing various events and activities for individuals or groups. To collaborate with team members, manage resources, and ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience for participants. This role requires excellent communication and leadership skills, as well as creativity and attention to detail.
Your duties will include:
1. Assisting Residents with social outings and requirements both externally and internally as agreed with the MDT.
2. Developing Social Activities Programmes.
3. Playing a crucial role in improving the well-being of our residents by planning, organizing, and implementing a wide range of activities.
4. Providing accurate clinical records and feedback, both written and verbal to MDT.
In order to be considered for this post, candidates should have a flexible attitude, adopt a person-centred ethos, show empathy and a desire to make a difference, and have a full driving licence for car and minibus. Experience is preferred.

* Candidates will ideally have an interest and experience in running groups.
* You will understand the value of activity and structure in an acute rehabilitation setting.
* Demonstrate excellent communication and organisational skills.
* Successful candidates will be required to undergo an Enhanced DBS.
