Provide comprehensive administrative, clerical and audio typing service to renal teams. This will include coordination of both clinical and non-clinical activities of the renal departmental areas as required. Work in a team based secretarial service providing support for each other and ensuring continuity of the service.

• To undertake clerical and administrative duties
• Collecting, sorting and the opening of post
• Print and process patient referrals received via the Electronic Referral System and register on database for the Consultant to triage.
• Monitor Advice & Guidance requests received from GP surgeries via Electronic Referral System and process in a timely manner.
• Audio type all clinical letters and other correspondence as required by the consultant and team, ensuring layout, spelling, grammar and punctuation is consistent.
• Assess all enquiries and deal with effectively and respond appropriately
• Provide support to other members of the administrative and clerical team and cross cover during periods of annual or sick leave as required.
• Covering Renal Outpatient reception during periods of the receptionist's absence.
• The maintenance of department stationery, office supplies requirement and stationery storeroom
• Make appointments as appropriate, in line with government and local targets and trust policy, procedure and guidance. Where this is not achievable, give notification promptly to line manager.
