You’ll own your work from design to deployment, evangelize it and ensure its operational excellence in production.
Become a builder, an innovator, and game changer by joining the AVS team. Let’s build something special, and have a ton of fun doing it!
Key job responsibilities
The right candidate will enjoy finding solutions to hard problems, possess a strong technical program management background, and have demonstrated experience leading large programs with a well-rounded technical background in software development and cloud infrastructure. You must be able to thrive and succeed in an entrepreneurial environment, and not be hindered by ambiguity or competing priorities. This means you are not only able to develop and drive high-level strategic initiatives, but can also roll up your sleeves, dig in and get the job done. As a TPM in Alexa, you will anticipate bottlenecks, provide escalation management, anticipate and make tradeoffs, and balance the business needs versus technical constraints. An ability to take large, complex projects and break them down into manageable pieces, develop functional specifications, then deliver them in a successful and timely manner is expected. Maturity, high judgment, negotiation skills, ability to influence, analytical talent and leadership are essential to success in this role.
A day in the life
As a Senior Technical Program Manager in the AVS team, you will implement mechanisms to ensure high quality and predictable software releases for the AVS team. You will help engineering teams look around the corners and create plans to de-risk important software releases. You will own the product release schedule for key OEM partners using AVS. You will lead quarterly business reviews with AVS partner OEMs. You will partner with design, engineering, business development, solutions architecture, and finance leaders to support build roadmap(s). Partner with customers and OEM partners to provide them with APIs or device specs to build the NorthStar Alexa built-in experiences for Smart TVs, Speakers and more device form factors.
About the team
The Alexa Enterprise (AE) mission is to extend Alexa's capabilities and services to partners, accelerating Alexa's vision of creating the smartest, most capable and trusted GenAI personal assistant. We help our partners create value, and deliver a business we love. Alexa Built In (ABI) is one of the product portfolios of AE and it adds Alexa to 3P endpoints such as Smart TVs and Speakers to profitably drive incremental endpoints and new-to-Alexa customer acquisition. We build a portfolio of B2B2C software-as-a-service (SAAS) products that empower developers and enterprise companies to use voice to support their device usage and delight their customers. We serve world-class customers such as Samsung, LG, Philips, Hisense, Sonos and Bose, powering Alexa experience in millions of devices worldwide. Our team owns the end-to-end Alexa experience on a third-party device. Customers can ask Alexa to search their favorite content, control their smart home, change their device settings and even switch on/off devices without using physical device buttons. Our team values work-life harmony and a diversity of lifestyles and family schedules. We enjoy regular No-Meeting, Work-From-Home, and Take-It-Easy days. We love solving ambiguous problems for our customers. We Think Big, Deliver Results, and Earn Trust. We rapidly create and deprecate mechanisms that help us be more effective and connected.
