Job Title: IT Administrator
Location: Berkshire, United Kingdom
Type: Permanent
We are actively seeking an IT Administrator for the UK to cover our Reading/Northampton/Scotland offices.
Responsibilities
1. Responsible for maintaining the IT network, servers, and security systems.
2. Management of active and passive network devices (protocol TCP/IP v4 or v6).
3. Responsible for reliable and efficient operation of the IT environment, prioritizing production impacting support cases.
4. Responsible for communicating problematic situations in time.
5. Installation of software and hardware (OS, application SW, network equipment).
6. Maintain inventory of IT equipment in the UK (3 sites).
7. Local and remote support of UK users, remote support of international users.
8. Be an active member of an agile team in a problem-focused no-blame cultural setting.
Experience Required:
1. Knowledge of Linux OS (one of CentOS, RedHat, Ubuntu, Server and Client), LDAP.
2. Knowledge of Windows OS (Client), Active Directory.
3. Storage technologies: NAS, SAN, NFS, ZFS.
4. Use of software/hardware monitoring tools.
5. Configuration management: tools like Ansible or Puppet.
6. Usage and management of IT security platforms running on RedHat and Windows Client (Software firewall/antivirus), Fortinet Gateways advantageous.
7. Experience in help desk support for Windows and Linux end users.
8. Some experience with rack mounted hardware.
Skills Required:
1. Scripting, programming in Bash shell, Python (Perl is a bonus).
2. Good knowledge of IP networks including security aspects.
3. Knowledge of modern web application development (like NodeJS) and knowledge of SQL is a bonus.
4. Problem focused: able to work in and contribute to a no-blame culture.
5. Good interpersonal skills and willingness to help and support others.
6. Ability to contribute/apply new ideas for improving the IT infrastructure and procedures.
7. Willingness to document.
8. Eagerness to learn new concepts and skills.
9. Good interpersonal skills, willingness to help/support teams.
