TSA Riley are delighted to be accepting applications for this Project Management role in our Birmingham office. We are seeking a Project Manager with a background of working within a consultancy project management role within the construction industry to join our diverse Midlands team. The role would particularly suit a Project Manager with exposure to developments across multiple sectors within the built environment as our Midlands team work with an enviable variety of clients across various sectors including residential, retail, healthcare and leisure. We’re looking for a Project Manager with enough experience to take on the day-to-day lead project management role on some of our smaller projects between circa £1m - £10m in value, but also capable of assisting our senior management team on some of our larger schemes which can be anywhere from £50m up to £250m and beyond. We would love for the successful candidate to have the drive and ambition to work towards their chartership with the RICS or CIOB whilst working with us, and we will provide all the support and assistance required to achieve this via our internal APC training programme.
Key tasks and responsibilities of the Project Manager role include:
* Reporting into the Associate Director and performing a fully autonomous project management role on smaller to medium sized projects, working with multiple clients and projects across the Midlands.
* Working as part of a team of Project Managers on our largest projects and provide support on specific pre and post contract tasks across sections of the project.
* Ensure our client(s) achieve their stated objectives through close teamwork, proactive risk and programme controls and the provision of contractual advice.
* Prepare full tender documentation, for consultant or contractor appointments, in line with the TSA Riley requirements and present these to the client for review and comment.
* Administer the tender processes for consultant and contractor appointments.
* Provide /obtain advice on contractors, specialists, procurement routes, cost and programme solutions and present to the client.
* Administer / manage cost/variation procedures as applicable under the relevant Appointment or Contract.
* Attend and/or chair meetings within line with the appointment provisions.
* Prepare financial and progress reports for the client, ensuring their specific data requirements are included.
* Instigate value engineering and standardisation processes aimed at optimising efficiency for both TSA Riley and the client.
* Propose innovative initiatives on service delivery for TSA Riley management consideration.
* Prepare development and delivery programmes in Microsoft Project, ensuring the key deliverable objectives are understood and reported adequately.
Desired qualifications and experience:
* Degree qualified in a relevant subject such as Construction Project Management, Engineering or a similar equivalent subject.
* Ambitious and driven by nature with a desire to achieve chartership status to a relevant professional body such as the CIOB or RICS.
* A proven track record of working in a similar construction project management role within a reputable construction consultancy.
* Prior experience of working on construction projects across multiple sectors within the built environment.
* Excellent stakeholder management and engagement skills with demonstrable experience of working alongside reputable clients on large scale projects and developing successful and lasting partnerships.
* Experience of carrying out full pre and post contract duties in a Project Management role.
* Experience of administering contracts under JCT contract, including design and build and traditional forms.
