This is a regional sales management role responsible for managing a team of vested Financial Advisors with more than 24 months’ experience. These Financial Advisors may have been transferred to the Sales Manager after vesting under the Development Manager or recruited directly into this team from outside.
Output/Core Tasks:
1. Create and drive sales plans, targets, and growth
2. Marketing and business building support
3. Coaching and development of Financial Advisors
4. Manage business retention processes
5. Compliance and risk management
6. Enable practice management
7. Oversee quality and productivity management
8. Provide effective People and Performance Management
9. Budgets and expense management of the team
10. Recruiting of Experienced Financial Intermediaries
What will make you successful in this role?
Qualification & experience:
1. 5 – 8 years Financial Services experience in a marketing/sales environment
2. Minimum of 3 years Sales and Operational Management/Leadership of a team/unit in the Retail Affluent Environment is essential
3. Commercial/Financial/Legal/Business-related degree or Management Diploma
4. 120 Credits Essential while CFP is preferable
5. RE 5 is Essential; RE1 will be preferable
Knowledge and skills:
1. MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
2. Web-based platform tools/sites
3. Advisor tools (e.g., Sanfin; Leads program, Sanport)
4. AUTONUB / Glacier Hub
Business/Management:
1. Financial Services Industry Knowledge
2. Financial Services Product Knowledge (Sanlam and competitors)
3. Legal technical Knowledge (product related)
4. Relevant regulatory legislation and compliance knowledge (FAIS accredited)
5. Business planning
6. New and Existing business processes
7. Advisor contracts and remuneration
8. Sales and marketing processes and practices
9. Leads management and campaigns/competitions
10. Management skills to manage staff
11. Budgets and expense management
12. SFA distribution model and value propositions
