Senior Mechanical Engineer
Are you an ambitious Mechanical Design Engineer, keen on a more autonomous role in which you can become technical lead on a variety of challenging design and manufacturing projects for the Oil & Gas sector? My client is a growing Scottish Engineering SME that has built up a very successful reputation over the last 20+ years in the manufacture high-quality, bespoke equipment. They have an extensive design & manufacturing capability, with a great working culture. Their engineering talent is renowned in the oil & gas sector for their design and manufacturing of production control systems and subsea assemblies to a global client base. Due to recent expansion, they're keen to recruit a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join their team and play a critical part in delivering some exciting, high-profile projects within the Oil & Gas industry.
It's a permanent role, with a highly-competitive salary, hybrid-working and private healthcare included as part of the package. The company are based in Glenrothes and you'd have significant exposure to their manufacturing site, giving you the opportunity to see your designs "come to life".
You will be the Lead Engineer and client technical point of contact on new designs/builds for use in offshore oil and gas environments. Working to client specifications & regulatory standards, you will:
Create engineering calculation packages to validate designs using hand calculations and FEA software (topside and subsea structures)
Generate 3D concept designs based on client specification
Review and approve fabrication/manufacture/assembly drawings
Generate test procedures and operation manuals for equipment
Degree in Mechanical Engineering
Experience in design of fabricated structures for offshore/subsea environment to DNV standards
Experience using modelling software (preferably Solidworks and AutoCAD)
Experience using FEA software for stress analysis (preferably Solidworks or ANSYS)
