We have an exciting opportunity within a prestigious company as a Senior Buyer, to be based in Henley on Thames, Oxfordshire.
Key Purpose of The Role:
The purpose of this role is to source components at the lowest price, and at the appropriate time, to the correct specifications as needed, for all aspects of watch and accessories production.
Develop and maintain strategic supplier relationships and manage the development of contracts, contractual relationships and contract management to deliver continuous improvement in delivery of goods and services. Develop and implement procurement strategies and plans in line with company goals and objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Responsible for all direct component related purchasing across the business.
2. Management and development of supplier relationships.
3. Sourcing new suppliers.
4. Monitoring and analysing current vs historic costs, purchase quantities, FOREX rates.
5. Negotiate on pricing, quantities, and lead times.
6. Ensuring purchase orders are placed in a timely manner in relation to new components required for NPI and checking progress to ensure they are delivered to schedule.
7. Ensuring any last-minute design changes are actioned in a timely manner.
8. Maintaining the correct level of stock to fulfil production requirements and maintain an optimal level of stock holding (Expediting / De-expediting as necessary).
9. Work alongside all departments within the business and communicate effectively with them on forecasted arrival dates for stock.
10. Producing reports on purchasing related activities.
11. Working within the ERP system to generate purchase orders that form the basis of regular stock purchasing, in line with forecast agreed from sales.
12. Record and maintain accurate computerised records of all purchasing activities.
13. Conduct market research and analysis to identify trends, market conditions, and potential risks and opportunities.
14. Stay updated on industry trends, new products, and market conditions to make informed purchasing decisions.

3. Excellent numerical skills with the ability to analyse information and prepare reports.
4. A hardworking and reliable attitude, able to work autonomously but collaboratively.
5. Able to work on own initiative and to tight deadlines.
6. Self-motivated and sets high standards.
7. Able to remain calm and focussed under pressure.
8. Willing to take on new challenges and driven to continually improve.
9. Strong IT skills, with experience in Microsoft Office.
10. Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings (desirable).
11. ERP Software experience necessary (Priority desirable but not essential).
