Each year over 70,000 wax garments are sent back to Barbour globally to be repaired, rewaxed or altered.
Position Overview:
We have an exciting opportunity for a student to join our Global Visual Merchandising team here at our Head Office in South Shields in a 12-month Student Placement. This role will be key to supporting the development of Global Launches, Visual Merchandising Guidelines, Visual Merchandising Tools and Materials, Showroom set up and Visual Merchandising material inventory. Along with Visual Merchandising trend research and Global window launches and feedback.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
* Collection launch support: Assist in the planning and execution of seasonal collection launches, including showroom set ups and VM presentations.
* Support with sample management: Product organization and preparation for key meetings and presentations.
* Collaboration: Work with cross-functional teams (Design, Marketing, Store Design, Merchandising, Retail, Wholesale) to ensure alignment in VM presentation.
* VM Guidelines preparation: Assist in the development and creation of global VM guidelines to ensure consistency across all markets.
* Visual decks: Assist in preparing visual decks, mood boards, product layouts for seasonal collection launches across Retail/ Wholesale.
* Visual Merchandising tools and assets: Help create and maintain tools such as planograms, product display guides, and store layout instructions.
* Support in producing digital assets and VM materials that will be shared across global markets.
* Assist in updating and refining internal VM resources.
* General Support: Provide day-to-day support to the global VM manager on various ongoing projects.
* Participate in meetings and contribute fresh ideas and insights to improve visual merchandising.
* Support with showroom set up and maintenance ahead of key launches.
Skills and Experience:
* An interest and understanding of the Barbour brand.
* Currently enrolled in a Visual Merchandising, Fashion Design, Retail Design or related field.
* Highly passionate about visual storytelling and delivering exceptional customer experiences.
* Strong organizational skills with excellent attention to detail.
* Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite, InDesign, Illustrator, Microsoft Office PowerPoint, Excel.
* A team player who thrives in a fast-paced environment.
* Ability to multitask and manage deadlines effectively.
* A creative thinker with a strong eye for visual aesthetics and commercial appeal.

Additional Information:
* To apply for this placement, you must be currently studying an Undergraduate Sandwich Degree Course and able to undertake 12 months in industry as part of your course.
