Job Description
Are you a highly skilled Electronics Development Engineer with proven expertise in fault finding down to component level? Do you have a passion for product development and innovation? Join our expanding team at Smiths Detection and be part of a fast-paced, dynamic environment where you’ll contribute to the entire product lifecycle – from concept through to production support.
As an Electronics Development Engineer, you will be a key player in supporting the development of high-quality, in-demand products sold into regulated environments. You will assist design engineers, support the build and test of concept designs, and ensure successful project delivery across multiple projects.
Due to the sensitive nature of the projects you will be working on, we can only consider applicants that will be eligible to obtain UK SC Clearance.
About you:
* Fault Finding & Diagnostics: Demonstrate your 5+ years of fault-finding experience at the component level in the development and testing of cutting-edge electronic products.
* Product Development: Support the full product lifecycle, from new product development to updates and retirement.
* Testing & Verification: Conduct verification tests to ensure compliance with technical specifications.
* Team Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, subcontractors, and suppliers to drive project success.
* Documentation & Support: Develop test procedures, document results, and support technical product design throughout its life cycle.
* Continuous Improvement: Optimize design concepts for cost-effectiveness and apply lean principles to improve processes.
Qualifications
* HNC/ONC Qualification or Equivalent: A solid educational background in Electronics.
