Senior Planner
You will be responsible for developing the schedule for the pursuit using Primavera P6, ensuring that durations and relationships have been reviewed and validated by Superintendents, subcontractors, and/or our internal production rates database (where applicable). Additionally, you will ensure that the format, quality, and content of the schedule align with our clients Best Practices.
Primary Responsibilities
* Oversee the development and management of project schedules, utilising tools like Primavera, MS Project, VDC, and BIM scheduling software.
* Collaborate with construction teams to ensure regular updates and reviews of weekly and monthly progress reports.
* Work alongside engineers, contractors, and subcontractors to ensure that project timelines remain aligned with key goals.
* Gather and analyse data from a variety of sources to assist in decision-making processes.
* Monitor the progress of schedules, identifying any risks or issues that may arise throughout the project.
* Carry out critical path analysis to identify scheduling constraints, assess change impacts, and recommend corrective actions.
* Implement any adjustments or changes to the schedule as required by contract specifications.
* Produce “look-ahead” schedules to ensure teams are aware of upcoming tasks and potential scheduling conflicts.
* Investigate delays or discrepancies in the schedule, analysing their causes and assessing the effects on the overall timeline.
Key Qualifications & Experience
* At least 10 years’ experience in planning within the construction sector.
* A degree or qualification in Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related discipline is preferred.
* High level of competence in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
* Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
* Solid understanding of various construction processes across industrial, commercial, institutional, and infrastructure projects.
* Experience with critical path analysis and programme management methodologies.
* Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
* Proven ability to influence stakeholders and build effective working relationships within teams.
* Detail orientated and strong time management skills.
