The Trainee ACP will use specialist knowledge and skills to provide healthcare autonomously to patients in their area under supervision where appropriate. They will work towards accountability for independent clinical assessments, diagnosis, and treatment of patients with undiagnosed and undifferentiated conditions. In addition to this, the Trainees will also be responsible for appropriately referring patients to relevant specialities for any necessary inpatient or outpatient investigations as well as facilitating safe patient discharge.
This is an exciting opportunity to work in our Integrated Urgent and Emergency Care Service within Lincolnshire. We have 2 co-located Urgent Treatment Centres; Boston and Lincoln, and 4 rural sites; Gainsborough, Louth, Spalding, and Skegness. We also have the Clinical Assessment Service (CAS) who are based at Beech House in Lincoln.

Main duties of the job
What are we offering?
This is an exciting opportunity to complete a fully funded MSc in Advanced Clinical Practice whilst working in a supportive environment. We will provide you with protected time to attend University and enable you to develop the competencies and capabilities required to work as an Advanced Clinical Practitioner.
Trainee ACPs will be expected to treat both injury and illness across all age ranges, and each trainee ACP will be given a named supervisor on appointment. Supervision and training will be given throughout to achieve competencies.
On occasion, you will be required to support other areas of the Integrated Urgent and Emergency Care Service.
Successful candidates will need to demonstrate that they are able to meet the essential criteria in the person specification and can provide evidence of experience in the treatment of minor illness and/or minor injury.

Qualifications
Experienced registered Health Care Professional.
Educated to degree level or equivalent.
Previous Experience
* Commitment to undertake MSc in Advanced Clinical Practice, including Independent Prescribing; those successfully shortlisted will be contacted by the University of Lincoln prior to interview to check eligibility to enrol on the course.
* Evidence of recent and ongoing personal development including leadership.
* Experience of education, training, and supervision provision.
* Significant post-registration experience in a relevant setting.
* Knowledge of service improvement through audit and evidence-based practice.
* Able to demonstrate a working knowledge and experience of the governance agenda locally.
* Evidence of previous successful Masters-level study (modules).
Person Specification
Qualifications
* Regulated Health Care Professional with existing registration.
* Educated to degree level or equivalent.
* Recognised Teaching and Assessing course (e.g. Mentor Preparation, SLIP, Clinical Educator course, PGCE).
Experience
* Commitment to undertake MSc in Advanced Clinical Practice, including Independent Prescribing; those successfully shortlisted will be contacted by the University of Lincoln prior to interview to check eligibility to enrol on the course.
* Evidence of recent and ongoing personal development including leadership.
