Dornan are currently recruiting for Mechanical Project Manager to work on various heat network construction projects in the London region. These projects generally involve new-build district heating installations, including M&E fit outs of energy center, substations and secondary systems. In some instances, projects will also involve retrofit and other decarbonization works. We are part of Kantor Energy a specialist heat networks design & build contractor operating throughout the UK & Ireland. Founded in 2012, we have been driving the decarbonization of heat by delivering low-carbon heat networks under D&B and EPC contracts. Kantor has the capability and resources to deliver all elements of a heat network, with a particular specialism in the design and delivery of low-carbon Energy Centers. We also offer engineering services to our heat networks clients, from early-stage feasibility studies and concept design to optimization assessments for operational networks. As a wholly owned subsidiary of the €650m annual turnover Dornan Engineering group of companies (headquartered in Cork), Kantor's multi-disciplinary team has the skill, experience and strength to make a major contribution to the growth in low-carbon heating in Ireland by delivering complex heat networks projects from small private developments to larger public or private projects Roles and responsibilities: Management of live projects (from one to several at any given point in time), through various stages of design, construction and commissioning. Proactive management and reporting of all Health & Safety matters in accordance with industry and Dornan Group best practices. Planning, managing, executing and controlling projects with sole responsibility for budget, programme, quality, supplier and subcontractor management as well as risk management. These responsibilities will span the full project lifecycle from design development, through construction to the start of commercial operation/handover to our clients. Development and planning of all work packages for our projects with management and control of all contracts with Suppliers and Subcontractors. Leadership and management of the multi-disciplinary project teams and responsibility for ensuring that they are appropriately resourced. Develop and maintain effective working relationships with clients and all other key project stakeholders (both internal and external). Accurate and timely reporting on project expenditure against budget throughout the project lifecycle as well as proactive identification of risks and risk mitigation strategies. Participate, as required, in Kantor Energy bid/tender processes and provide appropriate support Experience/Qualifications Required: Degree in mechanical/electrical engineering or building services. 5 years' experience as an M&E project manager, ideally in the district heating sector (or similar). Excellent knowledge (and related delivery experience) of the assembly and installation of mechanical and electrical systems such as heat pumps, heat exchangers, piping, and HVAC components in plantrooms and similar environments. Proficiency in MS Office suite, in particular MS Excel, MS Word and MS Project. Strong verbal and written communication and problem-solving skills. CSCS Card Full UK driving license.. Why Dornan?
