We're working on a brilliant opportunity to join a growing training provider as a Trainee Operations Assistant. This is a 12-month maternity cover position, but with the business having tripled in size over the last two years, there's every chance this could turn permanent for the right person. This role is all about making sure students, visitors, and internal teams have a smooth, positive experience from the moment they arrive on site. You'll be supporting with everything from preparing professional event spaces and greeting guests, to answering course-related queries and booking learners onto programmes. It's a fantastic first step into an office-based operations role - perfect for someone from a customer-facing background who's eager to break into the business world and start building a long-term career. Key Responsibilities: Preparing the centre for daily training events (setting up professional event spaces, refreshments, signage) Greeting students and visitors and assisting with access/security passes Managing signage and layouts to ensure clear direction for guests Answering incoming phone calls and emails - these may range from general questions to course-specific enquiries Learning about the courses offered so you can assist with student queries and bookings Booking individuals onto training courses and confirming attendance Supporting with exam invigilation as needed Sending visitor lists in advance to reception Providing general day-to-day administrative support to the wider team Candidate Attributes and Skills: Previous experience in a customer-facing role (hospitality, front of house, reception, etc.) Confident communicator - someone who can chat with ease and put people at ease face-to-face Friendly, bubbly and down-to-earth personality - someone who'll fit in well with the team Strong admin or basic computer skills - able to pick up systems quickly and keep things organised Full-time in-office availability - this is an on-site position with lots of in-person contact Common sense, initiative and a willingness to help wherever needed Summary: If you're looking for your first step into a professional office environment, and you're coming from a customer-facing background with ambitions to grow within a business setting - this could be your moment.
