Our Field teams are essential in delivering contracts, whether through maintenance, installation, cabling, or civils work. Help keep the nation’s critical infrastructure connected and protected 24/7.
What you’ll do:
Our apprentices rotate through various departments, gaining skills, knowledge, and personal development insights into Network Services.
This role offers excellent career progression in telecommunications while earning a recognized qualification.
* Work in diverse environments such as offices, outdoors, BT exchanges, data centers, and emergency service locations.
* Learn to install, maintain, and test site equipment per contract requirements.
* Work on Emergency Service vehicles installing, maintaining, testing, and commissioning telecommunications equipment.
* Understand Emergency Services Radio Communications, VHF/RF/Microwave systems.
* Work with Optical Fibre, including cable prep, OTDR testing, and interpreting results.
* Learn about IP routers and networks.
* Understand project requirements and how to meet customer needs.
* Complete risk assessments and become part of a UK-wide field force.
* Implement health and safety standards and regulations.
Who you are & what to prepare for:
* This role involves working at heights, outdoors, and traveling across the UK.
* You may work in Emergency Services locations or around vehicles.
* No prior experience required; training will be provided.
* Candidate qualities: right attitude, commitment, eagerness to learn.
* You will receive a vehicle, mobile phone, laptop, PPE.
* Ownership of tasks and personal development is expected.
* Effective communication skills are essential.
* Logical thinking and problem-solving skills are important.
* Physically capable work and normal colour vision required.
The Requirements:
* Minimum 5 GCSEs Grade 4+ including Maths, English, and Science or IT.
* Eligibility to work in the UK.
* Full UK Driving Licence.
* Over 18 by September 2025.
* Ability to pass Security Clearance and adhere to Drugs & Alcohol policies.
Programme Specifics:
* Duration: approximately 24 months.
* Starting salary: £17,500, increasing during the programme.
* Qualification: Level 3 Information Communications Technician.
* Support from Bragd, our training provider.
* Primarily field-based with office and college visits.
* Post-completion employment opportunity with Telent.
