Litigation & Regulatory Lawyer
Location: Northamptonshire (Hybrid, Court Attendance as Required)
Salary: £49,500 - £53,500 per annum
Contract Type: Permanent, Full-Time
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Litigation & Regulatory Lawyer to join a well-regarded local authority legal team. This role offers a diverse caseload spanning criminal and civil litigation, licensing, contracts, and regulatory law, with the opportunity to undertake contentious advocacy in courts, tribunals, and inquiries.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide expert legal advice and representation on matters including Environmental Health, Licensing, Planning, Housing Benefits, Trading Standards, Highways, and Housing
* Manage a varied caseload of criminal and civil litigation, licensing, and contractual matters
* Undertake advocacy in courts, tribunals, and inquiries, ensuring high-quality representation for the Council
* Offer specialist common law advice and assistance to client service areas
* Conduct legal research and ensure compliance with evolving legislation and regulations
About You:
* Qualified Solicitor, Barrister, or Chartered Legal Executive with experience in criminal and civil litigation
* Strong advocacy skills, with experience representing clients in courts, tribunals, and inquiries
* Experience advising on regulatory matters such as licensing, planning, environmental health, and trading standards
* Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a fast-paced public sector legal team
