Role Purpose
The Head of Content Operations at Iglu.com is a role that incorporates the responsibilities of a Content Architect and a Content Systems Architect. This position involves designing both the strategic content framework and the technical systems that support content creation, management, distribution, and translation (or localisation). The ideal candidate will bridge the gap between content strategy and technology, ensuring a seamless integration that aligns with the company objectives. The role will involve leading and managing a team of content specialists. The role will report into the Marketing Director.
Content Strategy Development:
* Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business goals, target audience, and key messaging for the development of a comprehensive content strategy.
* ‘Content’ includes but not limited to: Rich product content, upper funnel content, content supporting SEO strategy, FAQs, reviews,
* Multilingual Content System Design and Management:
* Evaluate and select appropriate CMS and PIM platforms, ensuring they meet both strategic and technical requirements.
* Design and oversee the implementation of content and product management systems and related technical solutions that support the content strategy.
Information Architecture:
* Develop and implement information architecture strategies to organise and structure content for optimal user experience.
* Ensure the logical organisation and accessibility of content within the content systems.
* Content Creation and Optimisation:
* Oversee the creation of high-quality, engaging content, ensuring consistency with brand guidelines and messaging standards.
* Collaborate with SEO team to optimise content for search engines and improve organic visibility.
Integration and Interoperability:
* Collaborate with IT and development teams to integrate content systems and product catalogue with other business systems and applications.
* Ensure seamless interoperability between content management systems and external platforms.
* Customisation and Configuration:
* Customise and configure content management systems to meet specific business requirements.
* Customise and configure product information management systems to meet specific business requirements.
* Implement enhancements and updates to improve system performance and functionality.
Workflow Automation:
* Develop and implement workflow automation processes to streamline content creation, approval, and distribution.
* Integrate automation tools to improve efficiency in content-related processes.
Security and Compliance:
* Implement security measures to protect sensitive content and ensure compliance with data protection regulations.
* Conduct regular audits to assess and enhance the security of content systems.
Performance Monitoring and Optimisation:
* Monitor the performance of content systems and implement optimisations to ensure efficiency and reliability.
* Utilise analytics tools to gather insights into system usage and user behaviour.
Collaboration and Training:
* Collaborate with content creators and other stakeholders to understand their needs and provide both strategic and technical solutions.
* Offer training and support to content teams on utilising content systems effectively.
Skills and Experience:
* Proven experience in content strategy development and multilingual content management systems implementation, preferably for an ecommerce website.
* Strong understanding of information architecture principles and web development technologies.
* Project management experience
* Good understanding of SEO principles and experience in working directly with an SEO team.
* Familiarity with security best practices and compliance standards.
* Bachelors or Masters degree in a relevant field (e.g., Marketing, Computer Science, Information Technology).
