Primary Teaching Assistants – SEND 1:1
Location: Chester, CH4
Hours: Full-time
SEN: SEMH, Challenging Behaviour, ADHD, Autism (depending on the needs of the child)
About the Role:
We are looking for dedicated Primary Teaching Assistants to provide 1:1 support to students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) at a school based in the CH4 area of Chester. This full-time role involves supporting children with a range of needs, including Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH), challenging behaviours, ADHD, and Autism. You will work closely with the class teacher to provide tailored support to help each child thrive in a mainstream primary school setting.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Provide 1:1 support to children with a variety of SEND, including SEMH, challenging behaviours, ADHD, and Autism.
2. Assist in the delivery of personalised learning plans to meet the specific needs of individual students.
3. Support students in accessing the curriculum and engaging in classroom activities.
4. Implement positive behaviour management strategies to promote a safe and inclusive learning environment.
5. Foster positive relationships with students, encouraging their emotional and social development.
6. Work closely with teachers and other professionals to ensure each child’s needs are met.
7. Regularly communicate with parents and carers to provide updates on student progress.
Essential Requirements:
1. Experience supporting children with SEND, particularly SEMH, challenging behaviours, ADHD, and Autism.
2. Knowledge and understanding of behaviour management strategies.
3. A compassionate and patient approach to supporting children with additional needs.
4. Ability to build strong relationships with students, staff, and parents.
5. Strong communication and teamwork skills.
6. Commitment to inclusion and ensuring every child has access to a positive educational experience.
7. An Enhanced DBS on the update service.
