Introduction
Responsibility for overseeing and managing an effective broking support function to ensure that the highest standards are consistently achieved.
In addition, to perform all roles of a broker support nature for clients. Responsibilities include the preparation of documentation, e.g. slips, contracts, policies, endorsements, placement presentations.
Responsibilities
Create Documentation
* Working with brokers or client enquiry, create slips, contracts, policies, endorsements, and placement presentations as necessary, with appropriate information.
* Use information provided via Crystal to check taxes and regulatory statuses and to prepare policy documentation/MRC contracts.
* Prepare supporting documentation alongside brokers and/or client instructions.
* Create placement presentations for London and overseas markets.
* Identify renewals and prioritise with brokers.
* Verify information provided by clients, in conjunction with brokers, checking for changes to required cover, loss record, updating information and amending renewal presentations accordingly.
* Ensure new clients and markets are onboarded and restricted territories and/markets are agreed with Compliance.
Record keeping
* Monitor the return of slips and/or endorsements.
* Maintain appropriate and accurate records in IT systems at all times.
* General office duties.
* Send files to Cheltenham to enable the issuing of EoC documents to clients.
* Provide other support to Brokers
* Provide day-to-day contact with clients / (re)insurers as required.
* Contribute to the analysis of client data for presentation to (re)insurers.
* Monitor the placement to ensure requirements of division, Compliance, company and FCA procedures are followed.
Development of self
* Contribute to Professional Development Plan (PDP) and identify training needs.
* Undertake appropriate learning and Continuous Professional Development (CPD) as required for current / future job roles.
* Maintain awareness of current market practice and initiatives.
General
* Undertake any other responsibilities which may become necessary for the proper performance of the role.
Knowledge/Skills/Qualifications
Education
* Good standard of education, especially numeracy and English.
* CII qualifications such as Certificate is desirable.
* Some knowledge of a foreign language is desirable, especially Spanish.
Experience / key personal traits
* Self- motivated.
* Attention to detail.
* Team player.
Knowledge
* General knowledge of Treaty reinsurance, particularly P&C.
* IT systems including Microsoft Office (predominantly Excel and Word), plus Crystal, Lloyd’s Wording Repository. Total Objects (GXB) would be an advantage.
* FCA rules which apply to General (Re)Insurance, training is provided.
