We are on a mission to be the partner of choice for developing people and their communities. Reed Wellbeing is a public service provider delivering lifestyle and wellbeing programmes that help people improve their health. Working on our Type 2 Diabetes Path to Remission Programme, you will take participants through a 12-month journey of 20 tailored 1:1 sessions, including providing tailored dietary, nutritional, physical activity and behavioural advice to bring about permanent lifestyle changes, with the aim of putting their diabetes into remission.
We are looking for passionate and like-minded individuals, to join our existing dynamic and expertly trained team, to deliver our world class evidence-based health and wellbeing behavioural lifestyle interventions.
Delivering sessions across Stoke and Staffordshire, you will work in the heart of the community. Session delivery will be face-to-face across the following locations:
Stoke - Stafford and surrounding, North Staffordshire & Stoke on Trent
Rates of Pay - £15 Per 30-minute session
Expected availability for programme delivery is between 12 and 20 hours per week.
Must have flexibility and be willingness to travel, having own transport and holding a full UK driving licence is essential.
Graduates are welcome and full training is provided. During your initial call you will have the opportunity to ask questions about the self-employment model.
What is the role about
Reed Wellbeing Trainers will provide you with comprehensive, market leading training into the theory and application of our behaviour change based Path to Remission programme and other interventions, along with a thorough overview of service delivery and associated process requirements.
You will support participants through up to 12 weeks of total diet replacement, providing tailored interventions such as resilience, emotional eating and managing triggers. Following the total diet replacement, you will support participants through food re-introduction and weight management, focusing on nutritional advice, coping strategies and physical activity (where appropriate) to encourage a sustainable lifestyle. You will also support the monitoring of progress through regular blood pressure, blood glucose and weight measurements.
Just some of your day to day responsibilities will include:
* Delivering Reed Wellbeing's individual assessments and 1:1 sessions in a professional, engaging and motivational style, in accordance with our curriculum, resources and quality
* Using coaching techniques to facilitate positive discussions and sustainable lifestyle changes
* Tailoring and adapting delivery approach to maximise participant engagement, learning and development
* Acting as an ambassador for the service through actively promoting the programme within the community, in line with national and local guidelines
* Assisting line management to co-ordinate and plan your service delivery
* Supporting and monitoring participant progression through the programme, accurately capturing relevant data, quality assuring delivery and fulfilling Commissioner reporting
* Providing face to face and, where appropriate, telephone and/or online health support
* Proactively contributing ideas to support the service
To be successful in this role, we are looking someone with
* Minimum Level 3 qualification relating to:
o Health improvement or promotion or public health or equivalent (e.g. City & Guilds Level 3 Health Trainer or equivalent); or
o Nutrition; or
o Training (e.g. PTTLs / Award in Education & Training)
* Passion for health and wellbeing with an enthusiastic and genuine approach to helping participants improve their health
* Ability to coach individuals to identify solutions and develop knowledge and skills to support sustainable behavioural or lifestyle changes, particularly healthy eating
* Engaging and empathetic communication
* Well organised and strong team skills
* Willingness to be flexible in respect of working hours (including evenings)
* Flexibility and willingness to travel, having own transport and holding a full UK driving licence
* Willingness and ability to undertake initial training and CPD as required
* Fluency in community languages is desirable
